About Christina

Christina Brando-Subis is the Elementary Program Coordinator and Associate Professor of Literacy at LC State. Christina attended LCSC from 2002-2006, receiving her Elementary Education degree with a literacy endorsement.  She graduated with a Master of Education in Literacy from NNU in Nampa, Idaho in 2010 and graduated from Washington State University with a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy & Technology Education in 2020. She has attended LCVRC monthly meetings since the coalition’s inception in 2015 and is passionate about trauma-informed care and equitable classroom practices. Christina lives in the valley with her wonderful husband and two awesome children!
